ফরীদির স্বভাবসুলভ একটা সারল্য ছিল, আবার এই সারল্যই তাকে কি কোন মোহের কাছে পরাজিত করেছিল? জীবনের মোহ তাকে আচ্ছন্ন করেনি, করলে সে শরীরটাকে মানত। শারীরিক কোনো অনুশাসন সে মানেনি। বন্ধু, আত্মীয়, চিকিৎসক_কারও কথা না।
তাহলে কোন ভূতে পেয়েছিল তাকে?
সে কি সব সময়ই একটা অন্য জগতে বসবাস করত, যে জীবন শালিকের বা দোয়েলের?
